Helen Lockley (nee Hook)

Helen has over 24 years of experience in Higher Education, including 15 years in various Careers Professional roles and 9 years as an Enterprise Educator at the University of Birmingham. She specialises in embedding creative, contextualised approaches to Enterprise Education into the curriculum through cocreation techniques with academics, careers professionals, and industry partners. Helen holds a degree in Business Enterprise, a PGCHE in Higher Education, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and currently chairs the AGCAS Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Task Group.

Helen’s expertise extends to working with international partners on collaborative projects such as International Service-Learning, idea mining workshops with NGOs like Amnesty International and Enactus, and research on agile approaches to collaborative online international learning. As an Early Career Researcher, she has also led collaborative research focused on Supporting Student Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education, underscoring the importance of enterprise and entrepreneurship training for university careers teams. Helen’s dedication to collaborative training opportunities between AGCAS and EEUK has resulted in her taking a lead role as Director, to support the new partnership agreement between both membership organisations.
